Change the president.. Do not change the date of the draw
Americans no longer need to wait for the announcement of new movies for the coming year. There is no need to wait for box office numbers anymore, or to rely on science fiction and special effects to grab the attention of millions of Americans to the screens. It is enough for the citizens of Uncle Sam's country to turn on their TV sets, or to tune their car radios, to see and hear the news of the approval of the start of the official impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden by the US House of Representatives.
Supporters of this move have outnumbered its opponents by a small margin, which means that the decision lacks some of the legitimacy that is supposed to prevail in decisions of this size. 221 deputies wanted to impeach the president, facing 212 others who want him to stay in the White House and complete his presidential term.
But democracy, in the end, requires that the majority of votes prevail, even if the difference is only one vote.
Democrats say that the decision is primarily political, but the Speaker of the House of Representatives went to the press the day before yesterday and said that the decision is not final political, but rather a purely legal decision without any political background or settling of scores.
"TV talk" and newspaper discussions find no echo in the salons of American analysts who hold a very important position in the American media, especially on the pages of the most widely circulated newspapers and magazines. And some of these are sure that it is about settling political scores and that there is a plan to overthrow the Democrats.
At another stadium, Trump is preparing to make a strong comeback to the White House. This man, who never surrenders to storms even though they tousle his hair and make his appearance strange, is not shaken in his strong conviction of the necessity of returning for a second presidential term to make America and Americans "great again."
Those who follow what is happening inside the United States know well that this decision is just one episode in the long series of events that have been heating up since last September, when the Republicans began impeachment proceedings against President Biden and opened an investigation into allegations against Biden, regarding illicit enrichment, abuse of power, and serving the interests of some members of the Democratic Party.
Republicans are happy, especially those who have not yet digested Trump's departure from the White House and his firm refusal to attend the ceremonies of handing over power to Biden when the results of the last presidential election were announced.
The first brick in the Biden's grave was when Trump escaped the trap of imprisonment due to accusations of inciting Americans to take to the streets, after the outbreak of events that damaged American properties and endangered the lives of thousands because of Trump's call for his supporters to take to the streets in protest of Biden's victory in the presidential elections.
And here we are today, seeing Trump promising Americans that he will cleanse the university campuses of supporters of Palestinian resistance and defenders of the Palestinians' right to resist occupation and supporters of Hamas.
For Trump, all of these are terrorists with no place in the United States that he wants to rule. He sees no problem in deporting them as if it were a routine action that any official might take in the afternoon and then go to bed at night to sleep soundly.
The series of investigations will now begin, it may be lengthy, and only God knows when it will end, in order to resolve the accusations against President Biden. The presidency of the House of Representatives previously announced that its members had reached a dead end when they began digging into documents related to the President's office, and accused the White House of obstructing the council's work to determine the validity of the serious allegations against the President. It is now expected that these investigations will take a different turn. Most of the world's population, and we are with them of course, do not care whether the series is long or its episodes are short, which will certainly be intriguing. What matters to tens of thousands of Moroccans, and millions around the world, is that the "Green Card" lottery remains on schedule, whether Trump reached the presidency, or ended up like the heroes of Western movies.
