Google is preparing to integrate the revolutionary “Nano Banana” tool for generating and editing images into its popular application Google Photos, according to a report published by the technology-focused website Android Authority.
The report revealed that the latest version of Google Photos, 7.47.0.810631069, contains code pointing to a new button dedicated to image creation, a function directly linked to the innovative Nano Banana model. Within the application’s code, an animated image was also found, illustrating in simple form how the feature might work, raising expectations of its official release in an upcoming update.
However, the report did not specify a timeline for the launch, suggesting that the feature could remain in testing and never actually be rolled out. Discovering code within the app does not guarantee its release in future versions, as Google may eventually remove it.
The report also noted that the creation feature currently available in the app remains exclusive to users in the United States, but is expected to expand globally in the near future. This feature allows users to transform stored photos and clips into creative visual content with ease.
Recently, Google introduced another tool on Pixel 10 phones under the name “Ask Photos”, which enables users to edit images in a manner similar to Nano Banana.
The Nano Banana model is regarded as one of the most powerful recent innovations in AI-driven image editing and generation via text prompts. Upon its initial debut, it sparked widespread attention in both tech and media circles. Notably, the model is available globally through Google’s AI platform without requiring a paid subscription.
